4 Days Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru park

The tour departs from Nairobi City in the morning to the world’s famous Mara Game Reserve, known for its numerous species of wildlife and breathtaking views of landscape. It’s where chances of spotting the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhinoceros and the Elephant) amongst other animals abound. Combining this with the Lake Nakuru National park (The birdwatchers’ paradise) is the best this time allows. The saline lake is surrounded by bushland and bushy grassland that support a variety of animals and birds species. The Acacia and Euphobia forests dominate the Lakeshore and Hills. This is home to the Black and the White rhinoceros, African Fish Eagle and the Rothschild Giraffe in addition to the predators such as Lions and Leopards.

The Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi-Masai Mara

We pick you from your Nairobi hotel then depart in the morning driving southwest for a brief stop at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley. Continue father south via Narok town (the administrative capital of the Masai) where one can change money or use ATM. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch. Proceed for the afternoon game drive returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Agree with the driver on activities for the next day.

Day 2: Masai Mara

After breakfast, explore the plains, valleys, hills, forests, streams and the Mara river to see the many mammals, birds, reptiles, insects, plants and the breathtaking landscape. Depending on the season, the annual migration of the Wildebeests accompanied by Zebras, Topis, Impalas and of course predators and scavengers. Lunch is picnic. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Masai Mara- Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, an optional visit to the Masai village is possible with the last game drive enroute before proceeding to Nakuru arriving in the late afternoon. Check inn for a relaxed stay at a Lodge in Nakuru. Time permitting, have a short game drive before dinner and night in the lodge.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru park- Nairobi

After breakfast, check out and proceed for game viewing in Lake Nakuru Park, formally referred to as the Pink Lake, for the population of Flamingoes that dominated the Lake surface. The game drive allows you to see the many Buffalos, Zebras, Impalas, Waterbucks, Rothschilds Giraffes, Rhinoceros, Pelicans, Cormorants etc. Lions and even Leopards are a possible sighting. After lunch, return to Nairobi arriving around 4:30 to 5:00 pm.
